ASHK Ambassadors Club

“Joining the Ambassadors Club is not only a recognition of leadership and learning skills, but also means representing the student body taking on a leadership role and embracing the responsibility of helping to promote school improvement.

Throughout our project work, I gained valuable experience in leading discussions, shaping ideas, and turning plans into action. I learned how to facilitate efficient teamwork,  listen to different perspectives, and bring everyone into the same purpose, and assign tasks based on each member's strengths. These skills have made me more confident and effective.

This year, our team organized an orientation project in cooperation with the school's admissions office. Our goal was to help new students feel welcomed and supported as they transition into ASHK. Our team here acted the role of a bridge, helping them build connections with teachers and classmates, and creating a sense of belonging from the beginning, making them feel like part of the ASHK community.

These projects have taught us how to turn ideas into action, manage timelines, and collaborate with each other. It’s leadership in practice.”

"As an ASHK Ambassador, we are committed to making a positive difference to our school community, making the school a better place for everyone, making it easier for new students, and providing a memorable experience for the old ones.

Through this opportunity, we have learned to take leadership, work as a team, and communicate better. Having a diverse group of students in the Ambassadors club has added to our experience, helping us see from other people’s perspectives.

This year, the major projects have been organizing the School Prom, supporting communication in Secondary homerooms and many other projects. The most noteworthy project we have completed is fundraising for the Tai Po fire; we raised over HK$36,000 during the winter concerts from parents and students. A cheque for HK$56,161 was presented to 
Law Ting Pong Secondary School (LTPSS) next door. This also includes additional donations from alumni and from ASHK staff which went directly to three LTPSS families who were significantly impacted by the fires. 

In all, the Ambassador’s Club this year has been productive, helpful, and has given us a chance to learn new skills."
 

"The Ambassador's Club has opened many opportunities for me, such as helping out in school fairs and other events. For instance, the club worked together before winter break to organize a fundraiser for the Tai Po fire during the winter concert. Many members baked goods but Katie, Ms. Chin and I crocheted some Christmas keychains and decorations. It was a really fun experience for us, and we got to practice our marketing and selling skills! 

I also got to work with other club members on passion projects in hopes of making our school community a better place. I am currently working on a project aiming to raise awareness for the House system, as my partners and I noticed a lack of visibility and participation in House-related activities, especially in Secondary. 

It is always fun to hear from other groups during our sessions as well, where we would share our progress and give feedback to one another. A few weeks ago, my group collaborated with the School Prom group to organize a bake sale to fund their project. I really liked how we came together to work towards a common goal!"
