Visual Arts
Every Student Is an Artist
At ASHK, every student is an artist in the making. From Kindergarten through Grade 8, students explore the visual arts as part of their core learning journey—experimenting with materials, discovering techniques, and finding joy in creative expression. In Grades 9 and 10, students can choose art as an elective, while those in Grades 11 and 12 may pursue IB Visual Arts, a rigorous and expressive programme that deepens artistic inquiry and portfolio development.
Creativity Through Process
Our Art Programme celebrates creativity in all its forms. Students engage with the full design cycle—investigating, experimenting, reflecting, and refining—developing confidence, curiosity, and imagination. Rather than following a single formula, they are encouraged to pursue personal interests, collaborate across subjects, and express their own artistic voice.
Art in Action and Context
Art history comes alive through interactive lessons, creative workshops, and field trips that connect students with the wider art world and inspire a lasting appreciation for visual culture.
Inspiring Spaces and Artists as Mentors
In our bright, spacious studios—complete with ceramic wheels, a kiln, a printing press, and diverse materials—ideas are free to flourish. Taught by practicing artists, our programme helps students see art not only as something they make, but as something they live.
Art Gallery
Our Art Gallery has a creative collection showcasing the diverse talents of our students through paintings, drawings, crafts, pottery, and design work. Each piece reflects their imagination, effort, and artistic growth. Welcome to explore, celebrate, and be inspired by the unique voices of our young artists.
In the Art Classroom
Stepping into our art room gallery, you will discover our students and teachers in action—from sketching and painting to crafting and experimenting with different materials. It offers a glimpse into the artistic process, collaboration, and joyful exploration that shape our daily learning.
